BLOCK NOISE ELIMINATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the block noises out of a digital image without causing blurring of the image so much by averaging the pixels which are adjacent to each other centering on a block boundary and reducing the noises of pixels existing at the block center part with no averaging of them. SOLUTION: Two pixels which are adjacent to each other in the x-axis direction are averaged between the right edge column LC of a 1st block and the left edge column FC of a 2nd block. In other blocks, two pixels which are adjacent to each other in the x-axis direction are averaged in the same way between the right edge column LC of a block and the left edge column FC of a block that is adjacent right to the preceding block. On the other hand, two pixels adjacent to each other in the y-axis direction are averaged between the lower edge row LL of the 1st block and the upper edge row FL of a 7th block. In other blocks, two pixels adjacent to each other in the y-axis direction are averaged in the same way between the right edge row LL of a block and the upper edge row FL of a block adjacent under the preceding block respectively.
