PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain distribution of call processing with high throughput by allowing any of call processing units decided in advance by a distributer to execute call processing of an ATM cell received/sent by plural channel interfaces. SOLUTION: Call processing of the ATM exchange system groups ATM channels and conducts call processing for the channels in the unit of the groups. For example, let ATM channels 51a, 51b be a channel group 53a and ATM channels 51c, 51d be a channel group 53b. Then a call processing relating to the channel group 53a, that is, processing of a signaling message for reception or transmission by the ATM channel 51a or 51b is assigned to the call processing unit 3a, and a call processing relating to the channel group 53b, that is, processing of a signaling message for reception or transmission by the ATM channel 51c or 51d is assigned to the call processing unit 3b. Thus, the load of the call processing of the ATM exchange system is distributed with high throughput. |
