TONER SUPPLYING ROLL AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner supplying roll which is free from fluffing of a roll surface and unstabilization of a toner transporting rate and has good dimensional accuracy and a toner supplying roll which eliminates the problems of durability and foreign matter arising from the rupture of the skin layer on the roll surface and is capable of relieving the partial change of the roll hardness by the intrusion of toners as well as an advantageous process for producing the same. SOLUTION: A soft polyurethane sponge layer 34 having the skin layer 36 forming a continuous and smooth surface having hardness of <=350g is formed around an arbor 32 by expansion molding of polyurethane raw materials within a molding cavity exhibiting a final roll shape. The respective cells 38 existing right under this skin layer 36 are opened outside respectively independently by apertures 40 of 100 to 800μm aperture diameter formed in the parts corresponding to the central parts of the cells where the thickness of the skin layer 36 decreases. Further, these cells 38 are so formed that the total area thereof occupies >=20% of the surface of the skin layer 36.
