PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of dark spots in storing or driving an organic electroluminescence element, and maintain stable light emitting characteristics for a long period. SOLUTION: A light emitting element comprises a protective layer 5, a sealing layer 6, and an outer layer shielding material layer 7 formed on an outer surface of an element main body 10 comprising a substrate 1, a positive electrode 2, an organic light emitting layer 3, and a negative electrode 4. The sealing layer 6 is formed of adhesive agent having a 100% tensile stress of JIS K6301 of 50kgf/cm<2> or less, and a water-vapor permeability of JIS Z0208 (condition A) of 20g/m<2> (24 hours, 200μm) or less. Hardening shrinkage distortion or internal stress at the time of hardening of the adhesive agent are thus set so small that peeling of the negative electrode or short-circuiting of the element is not generated, so generation of dark spots can be prevented by sealing the element main body 10. Deterioration of adhesive force or elasticity is not generated even after storage in high-temperature and high-moisture conditions. In addition, aging deterioration of the binding agent by reaction with the protective layer 5 is not generated. |
