PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader which can be installed in the state of high reading stability for the code of a reading object. SOLUTION: A direction/position discriminating part 51 of a two-dimensional data decode means 5 discriminates the direction and position of data area of two-dimensional data stored in a storage means. Based on the discriminated result, a binarized data extracting part 52 extracts binarized data out of the data area of twodimensional data. An error detecting and correcting part 53 detects the error of binarized data corresponding to an error correct code contained in the binarized data, corrects an error when that error exists, and stores the position of error and the number of corrected errors in a storage part 54. A decode part 55 decodes encoded data contained in the binarized data and reads code information. A display/output processing part 56 applies error correction information such as the rate of error correction and the number of corrected errors to a display means and an output means together with the code information. |
