<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the lightness of the screen of a display panel by improving the utilization efficiency of white light from a white light source. SOLUTION: The white light 7 is condensed by a lens array 2 and only the first color light component (G) is transmitted by RB reflection type hologram elements 3a. The second color light component (B) and third color light component (R) are diffracted and reflected. This reflected light is reflected again by the mirrors 4ab, 4ac of a re-reflecting means 4 and is again cast to the hologram element array. The light is the diffracted and transmitted via a transmission type hologram elements 3b and a transmission type hologram elements 3c. As a result, the white light 7 is spectrally split and the directions of the respective color light components are unified. Further, the light is forwarded to the display panel side via color filters B corresponding to the hologram element array. As a result, the entire light quantity of the white light 7 is forwarded to the display panel side and the utilization efficiency is improved.</p> |
