PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conductive compd. readily dispersible in water and an org. solvent, nor deteriorating photographic performance even after storage at high temp. and humidity and ensuring superior adhesiveness of a layer contg. the compd. to its adjacent layer and to prevent the electrification of an image element. SOLUTION: This image element contains at least one kind of conductive compd. having structural units represented by formula I or II and has an undercoat layer, a silver halide emulsion layer and a protective layer in this order on one side of the substrate and an undercoat layer, a backing layer and a protective layer in this order on the other side. In the formula I, II, each of X and V is O, S, -NH-, etc., each of Y, Z and W<1> -W<4> is alkyl, alkylene, amino, alkoxy, aryl or a hetero group, An<-> is an anionic group and each of (n) and (m) is an integer of 1-1×10<8> . |
