MANUFACTURE OF ITO SINTERED BODY AND MOLD USED THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an ITO sintered body with a high yield. SOLUTION: A molded body of an ITO sintered body is made by supplying slurry into a mold 1. The mold 1 comprises a liquid absorptive lower mold 2 consisting of a gypsum or the like and an upper mold 3 consisting of a liquid nonabsorptive synthetic resin such as vinylchloride. The upper surface of the lower mold 2 is provided with a rectangular molding recess 4, and shallow recessed introduction parts 5 are formed at sides of the recess 4 in its longitudinal direction. Hole-like casting ports 6 are made to reach the lower surface of the lower mold 2 from each introduction part 5. The inner surface of the introduction parts 5 and inner peripheral surface of the casting ports 6 are covered with lining materials 7, 8 of liquid nonabsorpitive material such as vinylchloride. A molded body obtained is sintered to form a sintered body.
