摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new material, composed of a structural raw material mainly consisting of carbon fibers, enabling the effective utilization of the features such as excellent strength, frictional and abrasive resistances and chemical stability of carbon fibers, capable of creating a carbon fiber laminar structural body having adequate elasticity, compressive repulsion, compressive durability, etc., which are never available in a carbon fiber itself as a raw material and accordingly can be used in applications closely related to human sensitivity. SOLUTION: This new material is composed of a fiber aggregate containing a carbon fiber in an amount of >=50wt.% based on the total of fibers and consisting of a crimped fiber in an amount of 50-100wt.% based on the total of fibers, and a binding agent consisting of a thermosetting resin and/or a heat fusing fiber. The new material is a three dimensional structural body of a carbon fiber having a three dimensional network structure bonded at contact points of fibers to themselves with a bonding agent and has a bulk density of 20-80kg/m<3> and a compressive hardness LC of 0.7-0.9 at a maximum load of 100gf/cm<2> .
