<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a low-cost gear by solving a problem that an exclusive furnace is needed for hardening and tempering treatment for the regulation of the hardness of a core part and for the uniform diffusion of carbon executed as pretreatment for induction hardening in the production of a gear by induction hardening, and, this treatment is executed as batch treatment, therefore, the cost is made high. SOLUTION: (1) A non-heat treated steel is used as a gear stock, which is subjected to hot forging tempering, thereafter, a gear part is formed by machining, and induction hardening is executed without pre-heat treatment. (2) A non-heat treated steel is used, the gear stock is subjected to hot forging tempering, thereafter, a gear part is formed by cold forging or rolling, and induction hardening is executed without pre-heat treatment (3) A non-heat treated steel is used, the stock is subjected to hot forging, thererafter, without heat treatment refining, a gear part is formed by hot or warm forging or rolling, then, after tempering, induction hardening is executed without pre-heat treatment.</p> |
