PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the recharging efficiency at high temperature by having alkaline electrolyte including sodium hydroxide while maintaining desired substantial capacity. SOLUTION: This method produces alkaline rechargeable battery comprising an anode including nickel hydroxide and cobalt compound with peak half-width of surface (101) by X-ray powdery diffraction method of 0.8 deg./2 theta, a cathode, a separator interposed between the anode and the cathode, and alkaline electrolyte including sodium hydroxide of more than 2N. In this case an aging process is incorporated at more than 35 degree Celsius before initial charging. |
