PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile equipment by which facsimile communication and voice communication are conducted through both an analog line and a digital line with an inexpensive and simple configuration. SOLUTION: The facsimile equipment 1 uses a system control section 16 to control a signal changeover section 4, which connects a modem section 7 to an NCU section 3 or a codec section 5 and connects a PSTN line or an ISDN line for facsimile communication. Furthermore, the signal changeover section 4 connects the codec section 5 to the NCU section 3, a voice reply message coded and stored by the A orμrule in a system memory section 17 is P/S converted by a P/S control section 8 and decoded by the codec section 5 and the result is sent to the PSTN line via the signal changeover section 4 and the NCU section 3. Furthermore, the voice reply message in the system memory section 17 is converted into serial data by the P/S control section 8 independently of the connection state of the signal changeover section 4 and the result is sent to the ISDN line via a layer 1 signal control section 9 and an I/F section 10 directly.
