PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire that is used in combination with gaseous CO2 inexpensive as a shielding gas, that is free from generation of welding defects such as projection of a bead, overlap and undercut at a toe even at a faster welding speed, and that is capable of a fillet bead having a superior fitness between the bead toe and a base material. SOLUTION: A flux cored wire for rutile type gas shielded arc welding, a cored wire with a flux filled inside a steel casing, is designed to contain, for 0.10-2.0wt.% in the total weight of the wire, a particulate multiple metallic oxide that has 1.0μm or less particle size, that contains 25wt.% or more Fe3 O4 and/or MnFe2 O4 in terms of Fe2 O3 , and that is in a vitreous molten stuck state with SiO2 as the main body. In addition, the wire is also designed to contain, as essential components, 1.0-7.5wt.% TiO2 , 0.2-2.5wt.% SiO2 , 0.2-1.5wt.% ZrO2 , 0.05-0.30wt.% one kind or the sum of two kinds from Na and K, and 1.5-5.0wt.% deoxidizing agent.
