Slotted screen filter for fluids or gases is contd. in a through-flow casing. A clean vol. is enclosed, sepd. from the dirty side. On the clean side is a filter support element, comprising a plate with slotted openings, and a support element forming a safety filter (14). Pref. the safety filter (14) consists of support projections (15) on which there is a slotted filter screen consisting of a wound, profiled wire. One or more apices of the pref. triangle section wire, lie towards the filter. Also claimed are: (i) a backflushing method to clean the filter, using high pressure on the clean side; (ii) a procedure to monitor the filter, in which the interval between two cleaning-off cycles is determined and compared with a set value, producing a signal for differences outside a specific time frame. |
