<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head having a hitting face of high hardness and toughness, and ensuring high workability, as well as a method capable of efficiently manufacturing such a club easily and property. SOLUTION: This golf club head is formed out of a clad material having a hard and toughened metallic layer 1 of the prescribed thickness jointed to the surface of a soft base metallic layer 2 at a pressure forging process. In this case, a technological means is adopted for forming a surface area 1a out of the hard and toughened hard metallic layer 1 and then integrating this layer 1 with the soft base metallic layer 2. Also, a methodological means is adopted for forming a clad material C out of a toughened metallic material F as the hard and toughened metallic layer 1 jointed to the surface of a soft base material B as the soft base metallic layer 2 at a pressure forging process. As a result, a golf ball carry can be increased and at the same time, the durability of a club head can be improved. Also, efficiency for the workability of the club head can be substantially improved.</p> |
