PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a simple drive circuit and a control method for switched reluctance motors with a short switching cycle. SOLUTION: Semiconductor switching elements 1, 2, 3, connected with the positive side of a direct-current power supply 11, are' series-connected with semiconductor switching elements 7, 8, 9, connected with the negative side, through armature coils 4, 5, 6 to form a first main circuit that on/off-controls the current of the armature coils. The armature coils 4, 5, 6 are placed between an auxiliary circuit formed by connecting a parallel circuit comprising a semiconductor switching element 23, a diode 14 and a reactor 13 to the positive side of the direct-current power supply 11, and the negative side of the direct-current power supply 11 through diodes 18, 19, 20, 15, 16, 17. In addition, a paralleled capacitor 10 is placed between the auxiliary circuit and the negative side of the direct-current power supply 11 to form a discharge circuit. |
