PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous pigment dispersion capable of regenerating waste paper having high quality and imparting light proofing property by coating. SOLUTION: This pigment dispersion for lightproof paper comprises a pigment composition composed of 2-50wt.% graphite in which >=80% of total number of the particles have 1-30μm maximum diameter, 2-60wt.% color pigment and 10-90wt.% white pigment, an aqueous resin and water. In the dispersion, the specific gravity of the color pigment and white pigment is preferably 2.0-6.0g/cm<2> .
