PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain uniform reflectance all over the information area by forming a coating film subarea on the inner area of the information area. SOLUTION: The transparent su19strate 101 of an optical recording medium has a coating film subarea 103 between a PCA 104 and a stacking ring 109. Prepits or pregrooves are concentrically formed in this subarea same as in the information area 111. The substrate 101 is mounted and fixed on a turntable and rotated at a slow speed. A soln. prepared by dissolving an org. dye and additives such as a quencher is dropped in a proper amt. as a recording material on the area 103 inside of the PCA 104. Therefore, the film thickness of the recording film in the area inside of the PCA 104, PMA 105. read-in area 106 or recording area 107 of the substrate 101 can be controlled to the desired thickness, not larger than that. Further, the reflectance of the optical recording medium all over the information area 11 can be made uniform. |
