PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability and the life span of the battery by protecting the damage of rib portion and to detect the damage of rib and the electrolyte leakage, in a zinc-bromo battery formed by providing a plurality of laminated single cells each having a separator with its frame interposed between a bipolar intermediate electrodes having passage and frame for circulating electrolyte, then terminal plates at both ends of lamination are attached. SOLUTION: A closed space formed in the welded ribs for maintaining the passageway of electrolyte disposed each in the laminated electrode 2 and separator 1, thus closed rib 15, 15a-15e are applied with negative force by means of such as vacuum decompression, to apply the rib with compression stress. This allows the stress applied to the rib to be decreased to prevent the destruction of rib to achieve the improvement of reliability and life span of the battery. |
