This model electric locomotive has three lights at each end. The front lights in the travel direction of the locomotive are white while the rear lights are red. This is achieved by connecting the lights at each end to forked light carrier rods (3, 4). The end of one fork (6, 7) is coloured red while the other (5, 8) is colourless. In the gap between the rod end of one fork (3, 4) and white end of the other is light bulbs (11, 12). These bulbs are connected so that only one light is lit at a time, this being dependent on the direction of the current passing through the locomotive to determine its direction of travel. Consequently the lights change colour at each end, when the locomotive changes its direction.
|
