<p>Cooler for high-viscosity media or media contg. high-viscosity or solid constituents, partic. mash, comprises a pipe through which the medium flow and which is surrounded by coolant. The pipe has constricted and wide zones one behind the other, pref. offset from each other by approx. 90 degrees. Pref. each pipe section comprises two opposed constricted zones at the sides and two opposed wide zones at the top and bottom, in which the constricted zones have a rectilinear shape and the wide zones have an outwardly curved convex shap. Pref. the constricted zone taper in the direction of flow, and the transitions between constricted and wide zones occur gradually. Thorough mixing of the medium on passage through the pipe is allowed.</p> |
