PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor in classifying and selecting agricultural products by judging C, S, I shapes of the products by an image-processing apparatus or the like. SOLUTION: A matrix of boundary coordinates 11 is obtained from a binary image 10 of an agricultural product, and a maximum length L of the boundary coordinates and an angle of the maximum length L to a horizontal axis are obtained. The boundary coordinates 11 are converted to vertical coordinates 14 by setting the angle to be 0, whereby a vertical coordinate matrix table Tab1 is formed. A sum S1, S2 of a group of middle points 15 of the vertical coordinates on the same vertical line and a line of the maximum length (area of a shaded part) is obtained for each of the upper and lower sides of the maximum length line. Two index numbers A, B, specifically, A=(S1+S2)/L and B=|S1-S2|/L are compared with set values PA, PB. When A>PA and B>PB are held, the product is judged to be C-shaped. When A>PA and B>PB, the product is judged to be S-shaped. If A>PA and B>PB, the product is judged to be I-shaped. |
