PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a portable radio device as a clock by adding such functions to a control part consisting of a microcomputer as a clock, a battery voltage detection part, a battery discrimination means and a receiving operation control means. SOLUTION: This device serves as a clock 23 as well as a radio device 22 which can perform the intermittent receiving operations. The clock (control part) 23 functions as a microcomputer which includes the functions of a battery voltage detection part, a battery discrimination means and a receiving operation control means in addition to a clock. The voltage detection part detects the voltage of a battery B contained in this device. The battery discrimination means decides whether the battery B is identical with the prescribed one based on the detected voltage of the battery B. A receiving operation control means stops the receiving operations of the device 22 when the battery B does no satisfy the prescribed specification and also controls to instruct the device 22 to perform the intermittent receiving operations only in a prescribed time band. |
