PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication equipment by limiting the band of an NRZ signal or an RZ signal from a signal source so as to suppress spread of a frequency spectrum of an optical signal to be sent thereby reducing the effect of the group speed dispersion of the optical fiber being a transmission line onto waveform distortion and extending a transmission available distance in an optical transmitter side of the optical communication equipment using the NRZ signal or the RZ signal in a single mode optical fiber. SOLUTION: In an optical transmitter side 1 of the optical communication equipment using the NRZ signal or the RZ signal in a single mode optical fiber, a low-pass filter 7 having a cut-off frequency of BHz or below is used to limit the frequency band of the NRZ signal or the RZ signal whose transmission speed Bbit/s from a signal source 2 to suppress spread of a frequency spectrum of the transmitted optical signal. |
