PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fast retrieve a moving image by calculating the similarity among the normalized frames which are obtained by multiplying every pixel by a normalized parameter and using an original frame having its similarity lower than the prescribed threshold as the next retrieval frame. SOLUTION: A normalized frame generation part 14 divides the sum total of all pixel value of the preceding original frame by the sum total of all pixel value of an original frame S2 to obtain a normalized parameter S. Then the part 14 multiplies every pixel of the frame S2 by the parameter S to perform the normalization processing. A similarity calculation part 15 calculates the similarity between the frame S2 and a normalized frame S4 and outputs only an original frame that has its calculated similarity lower than the prescribed threshold θ as the next retrieval frame S5. Then a retrieval frame buffer part 16 receives the frame S2 and a retrieval frame buffer write signal S5 from an original image memory 12 and the part 15 respectively and outputs a retrieval frame signal S6. |
