PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce temperature fluctuation of cooling water in a cooling water reservoir for cooling an oil pan. SOLUTION: A pump 27 sucks cooling water on the outside of an outboard motor so as to let this cooling water flow to cooling water passages 91, 93, 94, 101, so that an engine 7 is cooled down. In the cooling water passage, a thermostat 119 and a pressure valve 114 positioned on the upstream side of the thermostat 119 are arranged. By means of the thermostat 119, the cooling water is let flow to an oil pan cooling water reservoir 86 if a cooling water temperature is higher than the set temperature, and contrarily, the flow of the cooling water is cut off if the cooling water temperature is lower than the preset temperature. On the other hand, by means of the pressure pump 114, the cooling water is discharged to the outside of the ship without passing through the oil pan cooling water reservoir if a water pressure in the cooling water is high, while the cooling water is let flow to the thermostat 119 if the water pressure in the cooling passage is low. |
