PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new virus useful for low toxic vaccines, etc., by inserting a different kind of foreign gene into a region which is formed from genome DNAs originated from at least plural viruses different in strains and which is not essential to the proliferation of the chimera virus. SOLUTION: This chimera-recombined virus is obtained by inserting a different kind of foreign gene into a region which is formed from at least genome DNAs originated from two or more kinds of viruses different in strains and which is not essential to the proliferation of the chimera virus. The new chimera-recombined virus is high in a virus infection-protecting effect, low in toxicity, and useful for mammalian vaccines, avian vaccines, etc. In the chimera-recombined virus, the NP strain of fowlpox virus, etc., is used as a parent virus, and a gene originated from a virus such as Newcastle disease virus, Marek's disease virus, infectious bursal disease virus and infectious laryngotracheobronchitis virus is used as the different kind of foreign antigen gene. The chimera-recombined virus is obtained by infecting a host cell with both the parent virus and a virus recombined with the gene.
|
