<p>Sphygmomanometer comprises two cuffs (1, 2) connected to a common pump (7) by one or two pressure gauges (6). On each cuff is a microphone for transmitting Korotkoff sounds, connected by a sound-transmitting wire (10, 13) to a sound indicator (15, 16). Between the two sound-transmitting wires may be a connecting wire (19) with multi-way valves (17, 18, 20) at both connecting points with the wires and in the connecting wire. Each microphone can be connected to its sound indicator, or one microphone alternately connected to both sound indicators simultaneously while the connection with the other microphone is interrupted. The appts. allows reliable detection of blood pressure levels in the extremities relative to each other.</p> |
