Infrared heater for drying industrial product esp. continuous strip of coated paper

The heater (1) is installed above the path along which the product (7) passes. A supply (3) of pre-mixed inflammable gas and air is fed into the housing of the burner and electrically ignited. The burning gas heats a horizontal perforated plate (5). The perforated plate is made from very thin sintered metal fibres. The glowing fibres emit infra red radiation which dries the product. The perforated plate is held in the housing (2) by thin diagonal cross bars.
