PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage electrode having a high capacity and a high discharge rate by incorporating a specific element into a titanium - nickel alloy. SOLUTION: A hydrogen storage electrode comprises, as a constituent, a molding made of mixture powder including a titanium - nickel alloy containing oxygen. Although the titanium - nickel alloy containing oxygen is not particularly limited as long as oxygen (atoms) is incorporated into the Ti2 Ni alloy, it preferably has a composition expressed by a general formula: Ti4 Ni2 Ox (wherein 0.1<=x<=1.0, preferably, 0.3<=x<=0.8). If the content (x) of oxygen is less than 0.1, an effect owing to oxygen introduction becomes insufficient. In contrast, if the content x exceeds 1.0, a hydrogen dissociation pressure exceeds 1atom., thereby reducing charging efficiency, with a disadvantage of a decrease in capacity. |
