PULSE WIDTH EXPANSION CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the circuit area by decreasing the number of delay elements used to obtain a required output pulse width. SOLUTION: A pulse width of an output signal DO is extended through OR arithmetic operation of delay element output signals N1-N3 of delay elements D1-D3. Furthermore, the delay element output signal N3 is fed back to a control circuit 10 to generate a cyclic pulse signal to extend the pulse width of the output signal DO. The pulse width of the output signal DO is effectively extended by circulating the cyclic pulse signal for a required number of times. Furthermore, the control circuit 10 is used to prevent the pulse width of the output signal DO from being extended more than as required by circulating the cyclic pulse signal for only the required number of times. Moreover, The control circuit 10 takes it into account that an input of an input signal DI is not interfered.
