PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte lithium secondary battery which is inexpensive, has high energy density, and has excellent cycling characteristics. SOLUTION: This secondary battery uses for its anode active material Li1- X+ ZCoXNiO2+ Y(0.005<=X<=0.2, -0.3<=Y<=0.2, -0.1<=Z<=0.1), Li1- X+ ZAlXNiO2+ Y (0.01<=X<=0.2, -0.3<=Y<=0.2, -0.1<=Z<=0.1), Li1- X+ ZMXNiO2+ Y(M is at least one element selected from Mg and Ca, 0.01<=X<=0.2, -0.3<=Y<=0.1, -0.1<=Z<=0.1), or Li1- X+ Z(Mga Cab Coc Ald )XNiO2+ Y(0.01<=X<=0.2, (a+b+c+d)=1, -0.3<=Y<=0.2, and three of a, b, c, and d are not 0 at the same time). |
