Use of ceramide(s), preferably with added magnesium and vitamin E

New therapeutic use of a ceramide, for humans or animals, is claimed. Pharmaceutical compositions contain at least one ceramide which may be combined with a metal, optionally ionised, chosen from: magnesium, iron, selenium, silicon, copper, cobalt, zinc, nickel, manganese, and lithium, preferably magnesium, and/or with vitamin E, e.g. in the form of alpha -tocopherol.
