The exhaust for a multi-cylinder IC engine, consists of exhaust ducts (4) in the cylinder head (1), an exhaust manifold (8), and an outlet pipe equipped with a catalytic converter. The manifold is connected to an elongated chamber (7) of a given volume which is linked to the exhaust ducts, while the manifold has a single outlet connected to the exhaust pipe. The cross-section of the chamber (7) is more than four times that of any of the exhaust ducts. The cylinder head also has air injection channels which have outlets into an air distribution duct on the exhaust face (10) and into the exhaust ducts situated adjacent to the combustion chambers, and a combustion gas recirculation duct extending from one end of the chamber (7) to a regulating valve. |
