The level(1) has at one end a cotton string(8) wound on a spool(11) which includes a string locking system. The level(1) is also fitted with three air bubble containers(2) and a graduated scale(6). For vertical, horizontal and angled precision tracing over relatively long lengths the level has an alignment system(7) fitted with a spring having reference points(10) which aids the alignment of the string(8), its end hook(9) with the level(1)
