A pharmaceutical composition comprising a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist and an alpha V beta 3 receptor antagonist. The invention is also a method for reducing the risk of acute coronary ischemic syndrome in patients at risk to acute coronary ischemic syndrome comprising administering to the patient a safe and effective amount of a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist and a safe and effective amount of an alpha V beta 3 receptor antagonist.
