Machine tool with work mountings which are circularly relocatable

The machine tool holds the work-piece to be machined in a series of mountings (3) forming part of a mounting plate (1) pivoted about an axis (A). During machining operations the mounting plate is located and secured to a fixed body (2) by the engagement of conical teeth (15a,15b) mounted on the two structures. - When a further stage of machining is required a motorised shaft (19) drives a cam (16) which has a helicoidal flange and a circular flange and also a second circular cam disc. These cams actuate rollers which lift, rotate and then lower the shaft (13) on axis (A) such that the mountings (3) are moved to new positions.
