Bearing bed for support of crankshaft bearing, in internal combustion engine

The bearing bed has a frame-shaped limitation and incorporates screw domes for screw connections with the cylinder block and the oil sump. In the ribs on both sides of the bearing seat shells are through screw domes for the crankshaft bearings. The bearing bed (1) is formed composite component consisting of grey cast iron (GG) and light metal casting (LM), incorporating all bearing accommodations (10) of the crankshaft bearings (3) in the engine housing. The frame-shaped limitation is of light metal and has cross ribs. These cross ribs extend axially and radially, partly enclosing the bearing accommodations made of grey cast metal, and are bound held in recesses (11,12). The bearing accommodations range between the two connection surfaces (AF1,AF2).
