The mortar applicator consists of a hopper (5) with a pressure piston (6), able to travel along sliders (7) over a support (8) which can take three blocks at a time for coating with mortar. The middle of the three block positions on the support is lower than the other two to give an even coating of cement mortar, while the pressure piston ensures that the mortar penetrates the recesses in the block surfaces.
