In a plate change process, in which, controlled by a programme, a specific sequence of working steps is carried out in a sequence of working steps a condition indicator is set and then deactivated by carrying out of later working steps. In particular, it can be determined by means of these markers/reminder marks whether the printing plate has been fully drawn on to the plate cylinder or not. In dependence on the set or extinguished markers/reminder marks, the locking against at least some executable commands takes place and, in particular, locking against a new start of the printing plate change process.
