The machine has counters with associated displays. It has a symbol play device with symbol bearing rotating bodies. When these are still, a symbol combination is shown through viewing windows. A win or lose condition is associated with each symbol combination. The device has a panel with transparent light-up display fields (14) with win values, which form a monotonous sequence. When at least two special symbols and a further win symbol are shown in the windows (9,10,13) the associated win value is shown by illuminating the associated display fields in the panel (15,16). To display a further special symbol in the window a win value associated with the symbol shown in the window (13) is illuminated and added to a prize counter.
