The present invention pertains to the field of medicine and more specifically relates to a method for diagnosing the aggravation or remission of acquired immunodeficiency and auto-immune diseases, wherein said method comprises releasing dolichol with the urine. Should an increased release be necessary, the loss in dilichols may be compensated with the Ropren compound, a low-molecular bio-regulator which converts into dolichols when in the organism. The release of dolichols is then lowered and normalised before starting clinical and laboratory tests in order to confirm remission of the disease.
