Device for separating piston ring blanks from feeder column

The device (1) comprises of ring blanks (4) which are concentrically arranged around a common feeder column (6), and are connected to this column via bridge pieces (5). The feeder column is connected to a stepwise rotatable holding and positioning unit (2). The positions of the ring blanks are such that a separating tool (3,3',3",3"'), engaging the blanks at their outer circumference, can be radially inserted into an intermediate space (9) between adjacent bridge piece. The tool acts in such a way that a bending moment in the circumferential direction is produced on the bridge piece and the latter is broken off. The holding and positioning unit may have concentrically arranged claws (8) that can be axially inserted in the intermediate space's neighbouring bridge pieces.
