The heel holding device for a safety-ski binding has a device that holds the heel down through a spring arrangement and prevents it from travelling upwards. The back of the hinge (1) has a rocker arm guide (34,19) on which a rocker arm piece is propped. At the end of one of the straps, the strap end piece (10) is built over the hinge (3) of the movable back piece. On the hinged part, a tread board is shown and the hinge angle of the strapping is limited in the direction of the ski. The hinged back of one of the hinge axes may show guide slits (2) that are inclined in the spanning position of between ten and forty-five degrees from the vertical in the length of the ski.
