The invention relates to novel substituted pyridines/ pyrimidines of the general formula (I), A being CH or N, X being NH, oxygen or S(O)q where q is 0, 1 or 2, Y being a direct bond or CH2, Z being oxygen, NR7 or S(O)m where m is 0, 1 or 2, and the symbols R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 and R7 have the meaning given in the description. It also relates to a process for the preparation of said substituted pyridines/ pyrimidines and the use thereof as pesticides, fungicides, ovicides or as veterinary medicine.
