Described is a secondary-air system for an internal-combustion engine (32). The system includes at least one line (14) through which air is blown into the exhaust pipe of the engine, a pump (26) and a drive (27) for the pump (26). Also fitted is an air-feed line (13) through which the secondary air is supplied to the pump (26). The power necessary to drive the pump is provided by the engine (32).
