The handle (1) has a catch lever (2) pivoting on an axis (6) and which has a push rod (3) spring biased in the direction of pivoting of the vehicle door. The handle also extends through a profile extending over the same longitudinal axis. The door outer panel has an opening with guide lips (7) enclosing the handle during movement through the panel. The catch lever can be spring biased for movement between the grip and the lever (2) and the lever can be elastic itself.
