A television receiver which has a tuner (2) which converts a received signal from an antenna (1) into a intermediate frequency signal which is supplied to a synchronous detector (PLL detector 6) through a filter means (SAW filter 4) to take out an image signal. A variable frequency oscillating means (VCO 62) which varies the frequency of the intermediate frequency signal so as to make the frequency of the beat component of the local oscillation signal and the harmonic signal of the intermediate frequency signal coincide with the trap frequency of a filter means. With this constitution, the interference which is caused by the intermediate frequency signal jumping into the antenna can be prevented with a simple construction.
