PURPOSE:To form a color with an intended hue and obtain clear images, by a method wherein a feeding mechanism for a thermal recording material and a scanning mechanism for a thermal head are controlled, and a recording operation is controlled to form each color on the recording material, thereby obtaining a color image. CONSTITUTION:A CPU40 is connected with a ROM41 and a RAM42 through a system bus CB, and is connected with a feeding-controlling part 43 and a scanning-controlling part 49 for controlling the feeding mechanism 10 and the scanning mechanism 21, respectively. An image signal PS is inputted through an input interface 45, and R (red) and B (blue) signals are alternately inputted into buffer memories 46a, 46b by a one-line amount at a time, and are stored in the memories 45a, 46b, which are controlled by a memory-controlling part 44. The system bus CB is used for ON-OFF control of a light source 22 provided in the thermal head 20. The CPU40 further controls heating resistor row controlling parts 47a, 47b, which send predetermined signals to heating resistor rows 23, 24 in the head 20 on the basis of data stored in the buffer memories 46a, 46b. |
