PURPOSE:To produce a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet reduced in iron loss by forming a coating film imparting high tension to the steel sheet on its surface. CONSTITUTION:A magnesium oxide-aluminum oxide-silicon oxide composite coating film or a magnesium oxide-aluminum oxide-silicon oxideamorphous oxide composite coating film is formed on the surface of a steel sheet. A remakable tension imparting effect is obtained when the film contains crystalline cordierite or crystalline sapphirine. A suspension contg. a magnesium oxide precursor compd., an aluminum oxide precursor compd. and a silicon oxide precursor compd. is applied, dried and then baked at a specified temp. to form the film. |
